2012 Class Schedule

August 11,12,13, 2012
(Saturday, Sunday, and Monday)
(9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.)

Very few holidays inspire the decorating fervor that goes with Christmas. This class offers designers an experience and opportunity to enhance and expand their Christmas decorating ideas. Three full days of hands-on designing. During class, theme planning will be discussed and will be related to the newest merchandise available. Such themes could include:

  • Old World
  • Natural/Rustic
  • High Style
  • Traditional

Such pieces as wreaths, mantel designs, candle centerpieces, wall arrangements and door designs will be taught. Christmas tree planning and designing will also be a part of the course curriculum.  The MECHANICS of attaching materials, mounting candles and concepts of protecting the client’s furniture, walls etc. will be stressed. Both fresh and permanent materials will be used to create the designs.

Upon completion of this 24 hour class, students will receive a Texas A&M University Certificate of Completion from the Benz School of Floral Design.   The student keeps all designs made in class.

LOCATION and FEES
The classes will be held in the floral design studio at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. The tuition is $475.00 which includes all class materials, supplies, and a generous amount of printed hand-out materials.   A DEPOSIT OF $175.00 is required with your registration form and the balance of $300.00 is due the first day of class. Should you not be able to attend, your deposit will be refunded with 5 business days notice prior to the first day of class.

Students are encouraged to bring their own set of basic tools that would include a floral knife, stem cutters/snips, wire cutters and ribbon scissors.
