The Contemporary Design Class will expand your knowledge and vocabulary, creativity, mechanics and understanding of European and Oriental Design concepts. Learn the latest design styles:
- Continental
- Horticultural
- Architectural
- Monofloral
Each student will also learn the newest design techniques, such as basing, binding, facing, framing, faux finishes, pavë, plaiting, shadowing, sheltering and making armatures. Fresh as well as permanent botanical floral materials will be used to create design. There will be ample opportunity to discuss the newest concepts into your own daily work.
Students are encouraged to bring their own set of basic tools that would include a floral knife, stem cutters/snips, wire cutters and ribbon scissors.
Upon completion of this 24 hour class, students will receive a Texas A&M University Certificate of Completion from the Benz School of Floral Design.
LOCATION and FEES
The classes will be held in the floral design studio at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. The tuition is $475.00 which includes all class materials, supplies, and a generous amount of printed hand-out materials. A DEPOSIT OF $175.00 is required with your registration form and the balance of $300.00 is due the first day of class. Should you not be able to attend, your deposit will be refunded with 5 business days notice prior to the first day of class.
