White prairie rose is a diminutive beauty growing on prairies, in thickets and sandy oak woods, along fence rows and railroad tracks in the calcareous clay of Central and North Central Texas and into Oklahoma and Arkansas. This rhizomatous dwarf has few or no prickles and bears white blossoms which may be tinged with pink. There are usually nine tiny leaflets per leaf. Foliolosa means profusely leafed.
