Form/flower

Plume Tiquilia, Gregg Coldenia, Hierba del Cenizo, Oreja del Perro
Tiquilia greggii (Coldenia greggii)

Boraginaceae

Plume tiquilia favors the dry air and well drained soil on the rocky ledges of the Trans- Pecos, New Mexico and Mexico. This leafy, rounded, heavily branched but compact shrub bears clusters of pink to magenta flowers which highlight its greyish leaves. It is very attractive in full bloom and could be used ornamentally on limestone soils. It is not commercially available, unfortunately, because propagation techniques are lacking.
