Darrow Evergreen Blueberry
Vaccinium darrowi

Ericaceae

Darrow evergreen blueberry occupies dry sandy or mesic (moist) areas near streams in Southeast Texas, through Louisiana and into Florida. Its single lower stems split above into many delicate twigs topped with very small, thick, leathery and waxy leaves. The fruit is said to have only a fair flavor. This low, extensively colonizing shrub is considered to be a complex species which hybridizes with many other species and is seldom genetically pure.
